How does it work? The blades work on touch, and our nervous system and our proprioception.

Cupping (Rock Pods)

Rock Pods are made of Silicone and are an effective treatment alongside massage and exercises.

Myofascial Manipulation

The body is made up of layers of bone, muscle and skin, cupping affects the skin layers by decompressing the area.

What is Cupping?

  • Myofascial Cupping has been around for over a 100 years.
  • Only recently has the image of purple circles on professional athlete’s backs created attention to an ancient myofascial therapy.
  • The cups and techniques have changed over time, but the basic premise of the cups providing suction to decompress the soft tissue.

Dry Needling/Medical Acupuncture

A Trigger Point (TP) is a hyper-irritable spot, a palpable nodule in the taut bands of the skeletal muscles’ fascia.

Dry Needling is a treatment technique whereby a sterile, single-use, fine filament needle (acupuncture needle) is inserted into the muscle to assist with decreasing pain and improving function through the release of myofascial trigger points (knots in the muscle).

  • Dry Needling is primarily focused on the reduction of pain and restoration of function through the release of myofascial trigger points in muscle.

How does Dry Needling Work?

  • Blood pools around the needle triggering the contracted muscle fibers to relax by providing those fibres with fresh oxygen and nutrients.
  • Flushing away any additional acidic chemicals. This, in turn, leads to the decompression of the local blood and nerve supply.
  • Reduces pain and stiffness.
  • Improves flexibility  and range on movement.

An assessment will be made of the treatment needed,  a mix of the above maybe used for your treatment in discussion with yourself.
