A sports massage is not always a quick fix, you may need to commit to a treatment plan, depending on the issue, how long you’ve had the problem. From experience you usually need 1 to 3 treatments initially x 1 a week, to get on top of the issue. Treatments can then be spaced apart i.e. 2 weeks, then 3 weeks till the issue is resolved.
A monthly maintenance massage is then advised, so that you maintain the benefits of the massage and do not return to how you were.
Some people, have weekly, every 2/3/4/6 weeks, to suit them.
Effleurage, petrissage, striping, frictions, compressions and tapotement as well as passive stretching and exercises are various massage techniques used.
